Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy has its roots in osteopathy and involves very light, gentle hand-holds, making it suitable for all ages. Research papers support its efficacy at treating head, neck and back pain. CST is also unique in the way it can help process birth trauma for mums and babies after difficult births.
I’ve practiced Craniosacral Therapy for over ten years and offer treatments that help to re-set the nervous system and rebalance you physically, emotionally and energetically, restoring your health to optimal wellbeing.
CST for Managing Stress, Anxiety & Regulating the Nervous System
Craniosacral Therapy is a powerful tool to help support the regulation of the nervous system. When we’re constantly reacting in fight or flight mode, our systems rapidly become depleted and ill health ensues. CST can help manage stress and bring us back into the ‘rest or digest’ state where the systems of the body can begin to repair themselves and function again.
Headaches, Migraines & Neck Pain
Practitioners work to gently release compression in the bones of the skull, restrictions in the venous sinuses and the meninges of the brain, helping support the cerebro-spinal fluid to flow and to cleanse the brain and nervous system of toxins. Headaches and neck pain often involve trapped cranial nerves which can affect other parts of the body including the organs and motor-responses.
Gentle Craniosacral Therapy for Babies & Children
Birth can be a beautiful but tricky process. For mums, shock and trauma can remain in the system making them feel edgy and disconnected, not to mention the physical impact of birth on the body. Babies can be unsettled and experience discomfort from being compressed and contorted during a long labour, or in shock after a quick transition from the comfort of the womb to the outside world. Colic, torticollis, feeding and sleep issues are just some of the conditions that may benefit from CST and can be traced back to birth or in utero. I often work with breast-feeding consultants, midwives, nurses and doulas to get to the root of what’s causing discomfort.
